Throughout June, English and Creative Writing graduands celebrated the end of the academic year with a colourful and thought-provoking major exhibition displaying their work at the University of Bolton’s School of the Arts Creative Show.
English students, Charlotte Wilkes and Alex Hughes, exhibited their poster presentations, delivered as part of our third-year optional module, ‘Contemporary Poetry’. Each year students taking this module deliver a short presentation in which they explore a key idea or theme in contemporary poetry. As ever, a diverse range of topics were considered, and the English Department were delighted to showcase a selection of these fascinating projects, which included Charlotte’s work on ‘Anthropomorphism in Polly Clark’s Poetry,’ and Alex’s ‘Clare Pollard’s Ovid’s Heroines: Translation and the Contemporary Female Voice’.
Final-year student poetry also featured alongside this, some of which has already been published in the latest issue of the University of Bolton’s student-led Creative Writing magazine, The Bolton Review.
Open to the students, staff and the wider public, the Creative Show celebrates the wonderful achievements of our graduating students.
